Big MartyMP3: Big Marty: Big Marty Uses PlectrumsBig Marty is the side project of James Scott. Big Marty was founded when he recorded a song called A Rockers Take On Drum And Bass, taking backwards drum loops and distorted bass playing. He played it to his friend Laurence George who encouraged him to write more. The full story can be read in abbreviated form on his website. The moniker Big Marty was created when his other compadres, the Chicks With Di-cks, asked him if his name was Big Martin due the size of his large Doctor Martens boots. As a result of this, Big Marty was begun. For more information and such, please visit the website, www.bigmartydnb.piczo.com

thanks to those who came to lauries last night for the first night of the tour. the games of pool in the pub were good, the swings were fun, broth rocked bizarrely, f.vincent rocked with much noise and historical knowledge. big marty survived. peden filmed the incidence but the majority of what he filmed was made up of lauries crotch and sam looking at stuff. laurie made some fantastic pasta. unfortunately the tourbus was confiscated by parents but it should make its first appearance at Hughs house this saturday night. the lighting was d**n impressive and the room looked really good. the next show will have a lot to live up to

thanks to everyone who was at hughs house last night, it seemed to be utterly successful. Laurence George feat. Tom Irvine were good fun, the Tom Irvine Tribute Band were hilarious, and I think Big Martys set went ok, despite the zipper incident. and then tom tom at the end rounded it all off and we went to the play park again. the tourbus was let out by the parents and, despite some whistling noises, she rocked it. I think that was my favourite Big Marty show ever. thanks to everyone for putting up with us filming it, we just wanted to document the tour as well as we could. next - joseph pedens show, which has even more to live up to than hughs did....

ok looking at the amount of snow this morning it looks like we (like most people) wont be able to get up to josephs, so i am cancelling the show. even if it starts melting i think ill just postpone it. i think its too much to ask people to go to Brig O' Turk of all places when the roads could be dangerous. we'll rearrange it for some time in the future, and we definetly get the whole line up that was planned initially please pass this message on to anyone you think might be going

gig at scotts house - directions for use. scott lives at the house directly beside the main bus stop in doune village. fortunately he does not live in the wood of doune or everyone would get lost trying to find the place. the music will start at 7.30, so be there sharpish. buses from callander or other direction both get in to doune at about 25 past so you can use public transport, being green as we are. mr johnstone may or may not be in attendance. there will be minimal filming. the should be A LOT of music

thanks to everyone who was at scotts house last night, it was pretty fun. pre-match entertainment was family guy and stuart smith singing some awful rangers songs. into the actually gig, Broth were far more shambolic than last time, and terribly funny in a "film sam/film martys crotch alot" fashion. Panda was just God. F.Vincent nearly smashed Scotts TV, with his intense riff*ge and his swinging guitar. Hughman looked pretty sexy in his new glasses, and even played some of the hits. I think Big Martys set went cool once it was trimmed down (due to time constraints), though i totally forgot to do all my singing kettle references. there then followed some football in the park in the dark action. quite a few minor injuries to most involved. fun tour likes, im gonna miss the swings and the laughs
ps for further laffs, i put big marty into google. the things that come up are slightly bizarre - link keeps messing up so ill let you do it for yourself

facts of interest in relation to big marty: copies of "Big Marty Baby Yeah!", the tour DVD, will shortly be available also available are Big Marty Buns, a type of bread that is available only in america. should anyone wish to buy some, i'd really like to try it, possibly with some nice cheese and mayonaisse a third EP from big marty is being mooted and possibly to be recorded in the summer in the period of a week to try and release one more. this may not happen

The DVD has in fact been FINISHED (by myself) and will be premiered in the Common Room (Comzo) at 9:10 tomorrow. It will be on sale to the general public as soon as Marty, David and myself have burned the disks. It will be limited to 30 copies initially, but if these prove to be selling more shall be produced.
Just to whet your appetites, I can tell you that the DVD will feature...
-A full 42 minute Big Marty show recorded with proper stereo niceness (best served with headphones) -A 50 minute documentary chronicalizing the tour with clips from all the support bands and plenty on banter -A pretty bizarre interview with Big Marty, also featuring Mr Carrol and Mr Morrow's Physics class -A very very special message from Big Marty's sponsors (Marty's personal favourite bit of the DVD) -Hidden secret easter egg surprises -Magical moving menus.
Oh. Funk. Yeah.
